When it comes to the building industry, we make homes, towns and cities better, improving family living in terms of safety and energy saving, comfort and style, all in full respect of the environment.
We are constantly committed to creating quality products and to supplying services that will fully satisfy the needs of our customers.
The aim of Picasistemi is to develop integrated systems that will meet the new needs of the building industry while using traditional brick and tile products; no longer just products then, but whole systems.
This year, we presented three roofing systems and a ventilated wall at the SAIE:
Powerpica photovoltaic roofing
The roofing system that transforms solar power into electricity.
Great to look at, environmentally friendly, economical and high tech – photovoltaic roofing integrates perfectly with traditional roof coverings.
Characteristics: each solar panel is the size of 6 traditional terracotta roof tiles. The panel is formed by a frame to guarantee mechanical strength and waterproofing. Each kit contains 20 solar tiles to cover a total surface area of 10 sq m and by a set of elements and accessories to connect the system to the mains power (inverter and connections).
Photovoltaic power comes from the conversion of sunlight into electricity by silicon cells, which are joined together to form a solar panel. An inverter is required to convert direct current to alternated current if this power is to be used in the home.
The photovoltaic roofing concept has numerous advantages: it is highly reliable since it has no moving pieces; its lack of wear and tear means that maintenance costs are limited and its use is flexible thanks to the modular characteristics of the photovoltaic panels themselves. In fact, contrary to popular belief, a surface area of 20-25 sq m, which can easily be found on a roof, is all that is required to power a home.
Powerpica is a roofing system that offers the following:
- Reduced costs in terms of fuel, transport and qualified technicians
- Environmentally friendly characteristics and the ability to create jobs in the coming years as well as a total absence of noise and pollutant gas emissions
- Lengthy generation system duration since these modular panels are guaranteed for 25 years and, what is more, disposal at the end of their working life is simple because the base component is silicon, which has no problems in this sense.
- This solution has been chosen by the European Commission to promote photovoltaic energy. You will therefore be able to take advantage of grants from the European Commission and possibly from your local authority.
Picasistemi guarantees all of the technical information required for the best possible use of this technology.
Airpica insulated ventilated roofing
The roofing system to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
The utmost living comfort: control over heat dispersion, disposal of vapour during the winter and reduced incoming heat flows during the summer.
Characteristics: under-tile insulation and ventilation.
Airpica is a patented system for installing a thermal ventilated “double panel” roof covering formed by two overlapping and complementary elements, which are supplied separately and ready to install: a moulded panel in EC-certified expanded polystyrene (EPS) with excellent heat-insulating characteristics, waterproof qualities and vapour permeability, and a sturdy panel in multilayer OSB, faced with slate sheathing, complete with rigid polyurethane strips for laying tiles and concave roof tiles with flange.
Airpica is the only roofing system that can simultaneously provide:
- excellent heat insulation in the roof
- excellent ventilation for living comfort in the areas under the roof
- useful under-tile micro-ventilation
- double waterproofing against any rainwater infiltration.
Isolpica micro-ventilated roofing
The roofing system that protects your home and saves you money.
Perfect heat insulation and micro-ventilation make it possible to eliminate heat dispersion, accidental water infiltration and condensation vapour for an improved interior microclimate.
Characteristics: under-tile insulation and micro-ventilation
Isolpica is a supporting structural panel to insulate the area below roofing tiles. It is comprised of a core in closed-cell rigid polyurethane (PIR), faced on two sides by a 50µm embossed aluminium support. The specific combination of foam type and facing gives the panel the best thermal conductivity values available in the marketplace, both in terms of calculated values (0.024W per mK) and initial values (0.022 W per mK).
The panel is made load bearing by inserting a metal profile tile support in the long side. This features a series of holes to allow any accidental water infiltration to run off as well as to favour micro-ventilation.
Isolpica provides:
- excellent heat insulation (thanks to its low thermal conductivity values),
- an excellent vapour barrier to a value of µ=∞,
- protection against accidental water infiltration, thanks to the waterproof qualities of the embossed aluminium,
- a micro-ventilation effect thanks to the practical holes in the metal profile tile support,
- a safe support base for the roof covering (tiles/concave tiles),
- a surface that can be walked on and a load-bearing structure, thanks to the metal profile,
- extremely quick and easy installation,
- elimination of heat channels, thanks to the battening on all 4 sides.
Avantgarde ventilated walling
A new frontier in ventilated walls. A synthesis of innovation and tradition.
A modular system for ventilated walls, where it is possible to use traditionally made small sized terracotta pieces – such as listellos, soffit tiles and squares, whether they are extruded or made by hand – without the need to intervene on the underlying structure, even during the stages subsequent to installation.
Safety and simplicity for everyone since no specialised labour is required.
Modularity = maximum flexibility.
Designers are free to create architectural volumes that were once inconceivable for ventilated walls – such as cylinders, cones, ovals or arches – using a range of different materials. These facing pieces can be laid with or without grout widths to create charming back lighting effects; they can also be integrated with heating and water systems, technical lighting installations and electrical, acoustic and conditioning equipment, all combining safety and style.
There are many different application areas for Avantgarde, ranging from public and private building works, urban decor, design location and architecture for interiors.
Guaranteed to save energysince it completely eliminates heat channels with a resulting reduction of the coefficient K by as much as 63.8%. It also reduces sound transmission from outside to the building’s interior by 30.3%.
An ecocompatible system: all of the materials used to make Avantgarde can be separated at the end of their life cycle and are 100% recyclable.
This type of covering is a totally new feature on the ventilated walling scene.
In this way, it is possible to obtain ventilated walls with unique heat insulation characteristics, which are extremely flexible from a modular viewpoint.
