urban decorative outdoor paving laid 'with mortar' (*)

Supply and installation of Pica Urban Decorative Pieces (Cotto Zoni Range Outdoor Décor _ Cotto David Range Le Piazze), in Antique Rose with rusticated finish, size (3 x 6 x 27 Regolino; 6 x 6 x 27 Sestino; 3 x 12 x 27 Mattoncino Brick; 6 x 6 x 6 Tozzetto Small Block), laid according to layouts supplied by the Director of Works, sprinkling cement over a bedding layer formed by cement mortar 6-8 cm thick, made with 1.5 quintals of cement for every cubic metre of sand (0.3).

The whole will be distanced from the underlying reinforcement and load-bearing layer (screed) using a separation and floating layer, formed by a geotextile product.

The installation shall take careful account of the perfect linearity, angles and flatness between single pieces, as well as the evenness of joints (4-6 mm). The surface shall have a slope of 1.5 – 2 % for the perfect run off of rain water.

The work will include all cutting and jointing, as well as the installation of expansion joints every 5 linear metres, both lengthways and crossways. These joints must be installed both in the bedding and the paving, and will require finishing with the relevant rubber profiles.

The work will also include sealing the joints using cement mortar made from 1 part cement to every 6 parts silica sand (0.3), poured into the joints, and cleaning the paving, if necessary, with a solution of water and hydrochloric acid.

The whole shall be executed following good working practices.

(*) This section does not include the screed (reinforcement and load-bearing layer) on which the relevant drainage elements will be fitted. The composition and thickness of the screed will be defined according to the stresses to which the paving will be subjected and for this reason, a specific section for this should be foreseen.
